Add an Extra IP or More Disk Space to Your VPS

Buy an additional IP or expand the disk of your VPS from the panel without reinstalling. How billing works, how long it takes and what to check afterwards.

You can add an extra IP or more disk space to your VPS from the panel, without reinstalling. For an IP, open the Network & domain tab and click Buy an extra IP. For storage, open the Settings tab and click Add disk. In both cases the panel creates an invoice for the days left in your billing cycle, and the change is applied by itself once you pay it.

Note

These purchases can be paused on your account. If the buttons are disabled with a message such as "Paused for now", or the section is missing, open a ticket and our team can add the IP or the disk for you. Only the owner of the server can buy them; people you share the server with can't.

Add an extra IP

An extra IP is one more dedicated IPv4 address for your server. It is useful for running separate services, hosting several SSL sites on their own address or sending mail from a separate IP.

  1. Sign in to the panel, open your VPS and go to the Network & domain tab.

  2. In the IP addresses card, check the line below the table. It shows how many extra IPs you have, out of the maximum per server (15 by default), and the monthly price of each.

  3. Click Buy an extra IP.

  4. The window shows what you pay Every month and what you pay Today for the days left in the cycle. Read the note: we reserve the IP and create an invoice; once you pay it, the IP is set up by itself and your server restarts once to pick it up.

  5. Click Create invoice, then pay the invoice from the notice that appears or from your invoices.

  6. When the payment is confirmed, the order moves from "Waiting for payment" to "Paid, being applied" and finally the IP appears in the IP addresses card tagged Additional.

If you don't pay in time (48 hours by default), the order is cancelled and the reserved IP is released. You can also use Cancel order while it's still waiting for payment.

When you can't buy an IP

The panel shows the reason next to the button:

  • On Windows servers, extra IPs are added through a ticket (Open a ticket).
  • You reached the maximum number of extra IPs for the server.
  • Extra IPs aren't sold in your server's location, or there are no free IPs there right now.
  • You already have an IP waiting for payment.
  • Your server isn't active yet.

Check the IP on the server

After the restart, log in over SSH (connect to your VPS) and list the addresses:

bash
ip -4 addr show

You should see your original IP and the new one. Configure the software that should use it (for example, a web server listen line) to bind to that address. Each IP can have its own reverse DNS. Extra IPs are kept when you reinstall the server.

Add more disk space

Extra storage is sold in blocks, and the disk can only grow, never shrink.

  1. Open your VPS and go to the Settings tab.
  2. In Plan & billing, find More disk and click Add disk. The Change resources wizard opens with More disk selected. You can also reach it with Upgrade plan in the server menu.
  3. Use Less and More to choose how much to add. The wizard shows your disk today, the new total, the size of one block and the price per block per month.
  4. Review the summary: what you pay today (the days left in the cycle) and the extra amount per month.
  5. Click Create invoice and pay and pay the invoice.

Once the invoice is paid, the disk grows and the partition expands by itself, with no reinstall. The Overview tab then says "Includes N GB of extra storage".

Check the new space

bash
lsblk
df -h /

On Windows, open Disk Management and confirm that the volume is larger. If a partition still shows the old size on Linux after several minutes, restart the server once and check again; if it doesn't change, open a ticket.

Cost and billing

  • Both items renew with your service and appear on its invoices. The panel shows the monthly price before you confirm; we don't list prices in this guide.
  • The first invoice is prorated for the rest of your billing cycle.
  • A disk expansion can't be undone. If you later move to a smaller plan, the disk stays and the difference is kept as extra storage.

Troubleshooting

  • "Pay the invoice" never appeared. Open your invoices from the Settings tab (See invoices). The pending order also shows at the top of the Network & domain tab with a Pay button.
  • I paid but nothing changed. The order shows "Being applied" for a few minutes. If it says "Paid: support will apply it for you", our team finishes it by hand; open a ticket if you hear nothing.
  • The disk is greyed out with "You already have a disk expansion in progress". Wait for the previous one to finish or cancel the pending order.
  • It says "Not available for this plan". That plan has no storage price. Upgrade to a larger plan instead: see upgrade your VPS plan.

FAQ

How many extra IPs can I have?

Up to 15 per server by default. The panel shows your current count and the limit.

Does adding an IP or disk restart my server?

An extra IP restarts the server once to pick up the new address. A disk expansion grows without a restart.

Can I remove an extra IP later?

Contact support through a ticket; the panel doesn't remove purchased IPs by itself.

Can I buy more disk than my plan includes?

Yes, in blocks, as long as extra disk is available for your plan. If you also need more CPU or RAM, a bigger plan is a better fit.

When your project outgrows its server, you can compare VPS plans or just add what you need.
