How to Cancel a Hosting, VPS or Game Server Service

Cancel your game server, app, VPS or web hosting at the end of the period or right now, see what happens to your data and how to undo it.

You cancel a SolumeCore service from its own Settings page in the panel, and you choose when it ends: at the end of the period you already paid (it keeps working until then and you can change your mind) or right now (it stops today and cannot be undone). Cancelling at the end of the period is the safe choice for almost everyone. Cancelling stops future billing, but it does not return money: all payments are final and non-refundable (see Refunds below).

Only the account owner can cancel a service. If you were invited to someone else's server, you will not see the cancel option.

Before you cancel

  • Back up what you need. Download your world, files, databases or site first. See game server backups, VPS backups and snapshots or backup and restore web hosting.
  • Check for open invoices. Cancelling now cancels the open invoices of that service, but anything you owe for other services stays.
  • Think about pausing instead. If you only need a break, a pause may suit you better. See pause a service.
  • Sub-servers and test copies. A sub-server cannot be cancelled on its own: merge it into its main server from its panel first. A test (staging) copy is discarded from the real server.
!
Warning

Right now cannot be undone: the service stops today and its data is deleted. Download what you need before you confirm.

Cancel a game server or an app

  1. Sign in at dashboard.solumecore.com and open your server.
  2. Go to Settings and, in General, find the Your plan card.
  3. Click Cancel service.
  4. Choose when it ends:
    • At the end of the period (recommended): it keeps working until the date shown and you can undo it until then. Check afterwards that the cancellation shows as completed in your panel.
    • Right now: it stops today and its files are deleted. The unused days you paid for are not returned.
  5. Optionally pick a reason under Why are you leaving?. It helps us improve.
  6. For Right now, type the word shown (CANCEL) to confirm. Then click Cancel at the end or Cancel now.

After a Right now cancellation, game server files are kept for a short retention period (5 days by default) and then deleted permanently. The server page shows the exact deletion date.

Cancel a VPS or VDS

  1. Open your VPS and go to Settings.
  2. In the Cancel this server card, click Cancel server.
  3. Choose At the end of the period or Right now, and pick a reason.
  4. For Right now, type the name of the server to confirm. The panel warns that the server and its disk are deleted right away, backups and snapshots included. Treat it as irreversible.
  5. Click Cancel at the end of the period or Cancel now.

Cancel web hosting

  1. Open your hosting and go to Settings.
  2. In the Danger zone, click Cancel hosting.
  3. By default the hosting stays active until the end of the period you paid. Turn on Cancel right now only if you want it removed today: your site, email and databases are deleted and cannot be recovered. A second window asks you to confirm.
  4. Confirm with Cancel at the end of the period or Cancel now.

Make a backup of your site first, as the dialog itself reminds you.

Change your mind

If you chose At the end of the period, the service page shows that it ends on a given date. Click Keep my service (or Keep my hosting or Keep my server) any time before that date and it renews as usual. The Renewals tab also shows Cancels at the end of the term for that service.

A Right now cancellation cannot be withdrawn.

Optional one-click cancellation (when available)

SolumeCore can switch on an optional one-click cancellation for some accounts. Clicking Cancel service then opens a window that:

  • offers a final backup of your data to take with you, for a limited time;
  • gives you a grace period during which the service is paused and nothing is deleted, so you can Reactivate it from Invoices & payments > Guarantees.

You may be asked to confirm that it is you (password, 2FA or a code by email) before the cancellation goes through. This option follows the conditions published in the panel when it is enabled, and it does not create a right to a refund.

Refunds

SolumeCore does not give refunds. All payments are final and non-refundable, so cancelling does not return the unused part of the current cycle, and credit, top-ups and crypto payments are not returned either. This is the same rule as section 11 of the terms of service.

To avoid paying for a period you do not want:

  • Cancel before the renewal date, not on the day.
  • Check that the cancellation shows as completed in your panel. Until then, the service could keep renewing and being invoiced.
  • Set auto-renew to Off (I'll pay by hand) in the Renewals tab if you do not want automatic charges.

The only exceptions are an order we do not accept (what was charged for it is returned), obvious billing errors, which we correct, and what a mandatory law applicable to your case requires. The full policy is in the "No refunds, chargebacks and billing errors" guide in the documentation.

Troubleshooting

  • I don't see "Cancel service". You are probably not the owner of the service, or it is a sub-server or a test copy.
  • "This service can't be cancelled from here right now." Open a support ticket and we will help you.
  • I received a renewal invoice after cancelling. Check that the service shows an end date or the Cancels at the end of the term note. If an invoice for a period you did not want still arrives, open a ticket with the invoice number before paying it. Something you already paid is not refunded.
  • I cancelled by mistake with "Right now". Open a ticket immediately. We cannot promise to recover the data, but time matters.

FAQ

Is cancelling instant?

Right now is instant. At the end of the period keeps the service running until the renewal date; confirm that it shows as completed in your panel so it is not renewed.

Will I get a refund for the days I didn't use?

No. All payments are final and non-refundable, and unused days are not returned or prorated. If you cancel at the end of the period, you keep the service until the date you already paid for.

What happens to my data?

Cancelling now deletes it, with a short retention period for game servers. Cancelling at the end of the period keeps everything until then. Always download a copy first.

Does cancelling delete my SolumeCore account?

No. Only that service is cancelled. Your account, invoices and other services stay.

Can I cancel part of an order?

Services are cancelled one by one, each from its own Settings page.

If you come back later, our plans will be here.
