You change your cPanel password from the Settings tab of your hosting in the SolumeCore dashboard: go to Security, click Change password, type the new one and confirm. If you forgot the current password, you do not need to reset anything: the dashboard can show it to you, and you can also skip it entirely with the one-click Open cPanel button.

What this password covers

The cPanel password is also your FTP password. Changing it changes both, because they are the same account.

Your mailboxes and your databases have their own passwords, which are not changed here. To change those, see Create an email account in cPanel and Create a MySQL database on web hosting.

Change the cPanel password

  1. Sign in to the SolumeCore dashboard, open Web hosting (under Servers) and select your hosting.
  2. Open the Settings tab.
  3. In Security, find cPanel and FTP password and click Change password.
  4. In New password, type the new password. It must have at least 8 characters, with:
    • at least one lowercase letter,
    • at least one uppercase letter,
    • at least one number,
    • and at least one symbol, such as ! or #.
  5. Click Change password. A message confirms Password changed.

If the password does not meet a rule, the dialog tells you which one is missing. The change takes effect immediately.

Important

After changing it, update the password in your FTP client, such as FileZilla, if you saved it there. Otherwise it will fail to log in with "530 Login incorrect". See Connect to web hosting with FTP.

See your current password

If you forgot it, you can look it up:

  1. In your hosting page, click Connect.
  2. In the cPanel block, next to Password, use the reveal button.
  3. Copy it with the copy button.

You can also find it in the Files tab, in the FTP access card. Viewing the password is recorded in the Activity tab of your hosting, so you can see when it was done.

If you do not want to type it, click Open cPanel: it logs you in with a one-time link and does not need the password. See Log in to cPanel.

Tips for a strong password

  • Use a long, unique password that you do not use on other sites. The shown requirements are the minimum, not the goal.
  • Store it in a password manager.
  • Do not share it by chat or email. If someone needs access, share the service with them instead of passing the password around.

Troubleshooting

The Change password button is disabled

The hosting must be active. If it is suspended for a pending invoice, or the panel is paused by maintenance, a notice appears at the top of the page. Resolve that first.

I do not see the Settings tab or the password

If the hosting was shared with you, you only see what the owner allowed. Ask the owner to give you the permission or to change the password for you.

The change fails with an error

Read the message shown, which usually explains the cause, and try again in a moment. If it keeps failing, open a ticket from the dashboard and tell us what you see.

I changed it, but my FTP client or an old session still uses the old one

Update the saved password in the client and reconnect. Existing cPanel sessions may ask you to sign in again.

FAQ

Is the cPanel password the same as my SolumeCore password?

No. It only belongs to your hosting account. Your dashboard password is separate.

Does changing it also change my FTP password?

Yes, they are the same password.

Does it change my email or database passwords?

No. Mailboxes and databases keep their own passwords.

How often should I change it?

There is no fixed schedule. Change it if you shared it, if someone who knew it leaves your team, or if you suspect it has been exposed.
