How to Install WordPress on Web Hosting in One Click
Install WordPress on your web hosting from the SolumeCore dashboard: pick the domain, wait a minute and open wp-admin with no password. Step by step.
You can install WordPress on your hosting from the WordPress tab of your SolumeCore dashboard: choose the domain, confirm, and in a minute or two it is ready. The dashboard creates the database for you, installs WordPress with HTTPS and lets you open the WordPress admin area without typing a password.
Before you start
- Your hosting must be active. If it is suspended or in maintenance with changes paused, the install button is disabled.
- WordPress is installed at the root of the domain you choose, and that root has to be empty. If you already uploaded a site there, move it elsewhere or delete it first.
- Each domain can have one WordPress. A domain that already has one is marked as such in the list.
- Your plan needs a free database slot, because WordPress uses one. See Create a MySQL database on web hosting if you hit the limit.
- For people to find the site at your own address, connect your domain first. See Point a domain to web hosting. It is not required to install: you can install on the temporary address and connect later.
Install WordPress from the dashboard
- Sign in to the SolumeCore dashboard, open Web hosting (under Servers) and select your hosting.
- Open the WordPress tab and click Install WordPress.
- In Where, choose the Domain from the list. Optionally, type a Site name; you can change it later from WordPress.
- Depending on your server, the next step may ask for an administrator. If you see a step called Admin, type an Admin username (not "admin", because bots try that one first) and an Admin email.
- In Confirm, review the summary and click Install WordPress.
While it installs, a progress bar says "Installing WordPress on your domain". It takes a minute or two, and you can keep using the dashboard. When it finishes, you get a message saying that WordPress is ready.
Open your WordPress dashboard
The Your WordPress sites list shows each installation with its version and a health status: Working, Not responding, With errors, Possible malware or Needs updating.
- Click Open dashboard to go into the WordPress admin area already signed in, with no password.
- Click View site to see how your site looks to visitors.
If your server uses the other install mode, the dashboard shows a Your WordPress access window once, with the dashboard address (https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin), the admin username and a generated password. Copy and save them right away: the password is not shown again. If you lose it, reset it from the WordPress login page.
Never keep the WordPress admin password in a plain note or in a chat. Store it in a password manager, and use a strong, unique password for every site.
If one-click install is not available
On some servers the WordPress tab says that one-click install is not available. You still have two options:
- Click the App installer card in that tab. It opens the application installer in cPanel, where you can install WordPress and other apps.
- Open a ticket from the dashboard and we will do it for you.
What to do after installing
- Open Open dashboard and, in Settings, then General, check that the site title and address are right.
- Update plugins and themes from the Updates page.
- Make sure the site loads over HTTPS. The certificate is automatic once the domain points to the hosting; see Install an SSL certificate on web hosting.
- Create a backup before big changes. See Back up and restore web hosting.
If you connect your own domain after installing WordPress, remember to change both WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) to the new domain in Settings, then General.
Troubleshooting
The Install WordPress button is disabled
Your hosting may not be active, may be suspended for a pending invoice, or may have panel changes paused by maintenance. A banner at the top of the hosting page explains which one it is. It is also disabled while another installation is running.
The installation failed
You will see "The installation failed", usually with a reason. Check that the domain root is empty, that the domain does not already have WordPress and that your plan still has a free database slot, then try again. If it keeps failing, open a ticket with the message.
"That domain already has a WordPress"
Pick another domain from the list, or remove the existing installation first.
My site shows "Not responding" or "With errors"
Open it in a browser first. If the domain was just connected, DNS may still be propagating. If the error remains, check recently installed plugins and themes, and restore a backup if needed.
FAQ
Is WordPress included with my hosting?
WordPress is free software, and installing it on your hosting does not cost extra. You use the disk, databases and other resources of your plan.
Do I need to create a database first?
No. The installation creates a database just for the site.
Can I install more than one WordPress?
Yes, one per domain, addon domain or subdomain of your account, as long as your plan has database slots left.
Can I install it manually?
Yes. Create a database, upload the WordPress files to your domain folder and complete the setup in the browser. The one-click install is faster and avoids mistakes.
